After completing the course, you will receive a certificate entitling you to dive in open waters to a depth of 18 meters all over the world. Even children from the age of 10 can take the course (with a depth limit of 12 meters). During the course, you will be trained in the use of diving equipment and learn the necessary skills to stay safe underwater.
What the basic diving course includes?
The course consists of three modules: teaching theory, training in confined water, 4 dives in open water.
- Theory lessons: We will explain you the necessary knowledge and showing the skills needed for diving. You will receive an course textbook to study. Studying materials are available in many different languages. Throughout the course, you will discuss and verify the acquired knowledge together with the instructor. The theoretical part of the course ends with an exam. We suggest you PADI eLearning®, you can learn diving theory online. Ask us about further information.
- Training in confined water: Even before the actual dives, we train the basic skills and habits needed for diving in a swimming pool or shallow calm water. You will learn to assemble and operate diving equipment, you will also undergo training that will enable you to acquire skills for safe diving. Among the exercises we mention, for example: cleaning the mask under water, establishing neutral buoyancy and also practicing how to behave in various emergency situations.
- Open water diving: Another part of the course is open water training. You will complete 4 dives that take place from a boat on the reefs around Hurghada. In open water, we also repeat some skills performed in confined water.
A typical schedule of OWD course:
1st day
8:30 - 10:00 a.m. teaching theory
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. preparation of diving equipment, briefing before practicing diving in protected water (safety principles, diving signals, explanation of exercises)
11: 00 - 15:00 confined water training (pool)
2nd and 3rd day
8:30 - 16:00 two open water training dives per day, dives are made usually from a boat by coral reefs around Hurghada, Egypt.
